There is a balance between individual privacy and the need to have general public records readily available for viewing. If you believe a general public record requires protection of personal, confidential, or sensitive information, according to our Protecting Personal or Confidential Information page, use the following guidance to request protections:
General public records are afforded most of the same protections as official records. The Office of the Clerk & Comptroller is authorized protect general public records under the same laws prescribed to protect official records.
You may request the Clerk & Comptroller protect your information contained in a general public record through the methods found on our Protecting Official Records page.
Note: If you are a prior employee of the Pasco County Clerk & Comptroller's Office and you want to request protections of agency records such as your personnel file under Florida Statutes 119.071, please contact Human Resources.
