RELIEF CHECKS: NEW TWIST ON OLD SCAM

They’re back: Scammers are trying to use the just-enacted coronavirus relief package to get into your bank account. Beware telephone calls, emails, and other contacts from persons wanting personal info so they can help speed up delivery of your checks.

That’s not how any of this works.

Refuse to provide any personal, confidential information, including your Social Security number, your bank account and bank routing number. They’re attempting to swipe your identity and get access to your money. Refuse, especially, anyone offering to help you for a fee. None of this is on the up-and-up.

Further insights on the deception here.
