Do to the overwhelming homeless population, unemployment rates, unsuccessful results in state mandated rehabs, and programs, jails & prisons overcrowding, and millions of tax payer dollars being spent every year with no turn around. I have another suggestion, create funding/grants within Pasco County that can be awarded to try new project proposals, and ideas, from regular people in the community. People who are involved, and interact in these problem areas productively. I believe its time to think "inside" the box again.

More and more people move to Florida every year. Prior to the minimum wage increase, Floridian's were struggling with high monthly rent payments. The rental market has sky rocketed, even in low income areas. I think Pasco County should mandate the cost of living in rental homes based off the overall income median in that community. Which ever rate of pay exceeds 40% or more of the overall population in that neighborhood, should be used as a stopping point. If your take home after taxes monthly is $1392, your rent should only be 30% of that. So $417, yeah right! Florida residents are looking at about double that each month. That's per working adult. 2 bedroom homes in a decent area ranging from $1300-$1800 a month. This causes a strain in our communities, causes more hours working, and less hours at home. Shortages, and businesses struggling because people are so strapped for cash getting their rent paid, no one can afford to go out. Mandate fair markets rents in Pasco County.

It seems everyone is using the free air pumps at Wawa these days. Between the weather changes, and rough roads around Pasco, airing up your tires is becoming more and more frequent. The homeless population, as well as people facing transportation issues, miss out on affording basic nutritional proteins, and other items due to the inability to keep them at cooler temperatures. Lastly, debris, and other household items being dumped and left all over the city. People who can't afford to make a landfill trip, or lack transportation to do so, are forced to leave things behind. This brings me to my next suggestion...... Free Ice, air, and pop up disposal sites around Pasco County. Pasco residents can take up to 8 bags of garbage a day...for free, to the dump, air is free at some gas stations but not all, and ice, such a basic necessity, but could make a huge impact if made available for free. Create FREE ice, air, and share sites around Pasco.
