As mandated by the Federal Welfare Reform Act (1996), support payments throughout the state are sent to the Florida State Disbursement Unit (FLSDU) in Tallahassee, where a database of information from each county is maintained. Payment information is electronically transmitted back to the individual county; the official payment record in the Clerk & Comptroller's Office is updated to reflect the date and amount paid.
Types of cases processed by FLSDU are:
Child support payments subject to income-deduction orders.
Child support payments subject to enforcement by the Florida Department of Revenue.
Support payments previously (April 2005) ordered paid to the Pasco County Clerk & Comptroller.
